Life Lessons

These are the 5 core principles that contributed to Rohit's spiritual growth. He has lived by them for the past 25 years and now mentors people in how-to do the same:

  1. “Walk your talk.” I decided to stop espousing theories and beliefs that I had not validated, tested and experienced for myself.

  2. “Judge not lest you be judged” I hated being judged and so I decided to stop judging others including myself. Instead I practiced loving self-talk, forgiveness, acceptance of myself and others, with all our imperfections and flaws.

  3. “To know that you do not know is the greatest step to knowledge” I learnt to believe nothing—the media, institutions, gurus, religion, science, ideologies—not even my own mind. I learnt to be like a blank canvas, to be open to all possibilities, to remain curious, open-minded, introspective, observing what worked and what didn’t.

  4. “The truth shall set you free” I discovered a "truth" that lay beyond the purview of my thoughts, emotions, experiences or beliefs. This higher "truth" lies within all of us. It is a living force, which some call God or the Universe, guiding, supporting and loving us from within. As you tune into it, you awaken from the brainwashing of the mind.

  5. "Self Realization" or "Awakening" is when we experience the incredible perfection, beauty and power that lies within all of us. That part of us, our Authentic Self, is naturally peaceful, loving and joyful regardless of life's circumstances. Living from here is the mastery and key purpose of human existence.
